BARE IT ALL by Teresa

My skin and I are true frenemies. Every time I think we are on good terms, this bitch is stabbing me in the back. I am exaggerating of course. I’ve loved make-up ever since I was little. I started using foundation from my very early teenage years and before that, yes, it was the classic entry drug into the amazing world of make-up – the baby blue eyeshadow. I didn’t look back after that. I had the best skin during my teenage years, and I mean THE BEST (no pores, I swear). The tables turned when I hit 24 and I never had clear skin again. Now at 30, I am currently "enjoying" the worst skin I’ve ever had, and nothing seems to help. I cut out diary and meat, I tried organic beauty products only, I left sugar alone, I went off the pill, I change pillow cases every few days and so on. The diagnosis from a dermatologist is: it comes from stress. Um, ok. We fly  to the moon, but we can't get rid of my pimples?  Anyways, I am trying to go make up free once a week at work but mostly on the weekends but I want to do it more and more. I encourage you to go bare with me, WITH US! And this comes from a girl who indeed goes to the beach with full make up on sometimes (Why? Because it made me feel good). BUT: Listen, time for a change. Less is more and less is back!

BETTER BARE  by Jana

Do you know these glowing babes? Yeah, the ones you see on Glossier. The ones who seem like they just applied a bit of moisturizer, some gloss and instantly look bomb? Well, don’t we all wanna be them? First of all, I’m not one of them. I love a full face of make-up. But I’m trying to get there though. I’m on my so called skin-journey (is that even a word?) to becoming a babe with the glow. And you should do it too. Why? Cause going bare-faced is freaking amazing. I always had pimples here and there, of course when I was a teen it was worse. Now it’s just sometimes (hello period) and only on the chin. But they left me with a lot of discoloration. I’m quite prone to that, which sucks because there’s simply not a lot you can do. I’m also quite fair-skinned, but get quite tanned in summer and get freckles which I LOVE. Another issue that I have, are my dark circles. If I would ever get filler, this would probably be the spot. So yes, I thought about fillers before. I’m 27 now and of course my smile lines start showing. I also have a small line on my forehead. And my dryness doesn’t help with that. But honestly, IDGAF. Most of the time. There’s nothing more weird to me those women who butchered their faces in order to look youthful. Live a little, honey. So yes, I do go bare faced, I always did. I always will. And I want to encourage you to do the same.

Here are some reasons why we all should embrace our natural face
(people might call you ill from time to time, but that’s ok, honey):

Your skin needs some fresh air! Let’s be real, make-up is clogging up our pores. We literally feel bad about the amount of cotton pads we have to use in the evening (feel us?) and going make up-free for at least a day will keep your skin refreshed.

You may find out what you didn't want to know! Have irritated skin or blemishes and breakouts? When you go make up free for a little longer than one day (a week let's say), you see how your skin changes and you may can detect the products that's not so perfect for your skin. And yes, maybe it ends up being your favorite foundation or most expensive skin care product but at least you know.

It’ll boost your confidence! Yes, it’s hard at first, but you will get used to it (we did, so you can, too)! Start in summer, because everything is easier with a tan. And boom, there come the compliments. Because you know what? The people around you see you differently and being in all your natural glory is something they’re gonna love.

You’ll see progress, quickly. Because you wanna be dewy! You wanna be protected (SPF!), you wanna have clear skin. So you will do the extra masking, the extra cleansing and enjoy every part of it. And get results.

You’ll be an effortless bae. You don’t even need make-up, do you?
